One typical winter, teenager Yu decides she wants to drop out of the school dance team. In her struggle for independence, she will resort to desperate measures. The film won the Leica Cine Discovery Prize in the Critic’s Week program at Cannes and later screened at Toronto International Film Festival.

Qiu Yang
Born and raised in China. Graduated from Victorian College of the Arts in Australia. His 2015 short Under the Sun screened in Cannes Cinéfondation Competition. He directed A Gentle Night, which won Short Film Palme d’Or in Cannes. She Runs won Leica Cine Discovery Prize at Critics’ Week in Cannes. He is currently developing his first feature.
