Dear friends,

Once again, it is an honour to greet you and to introduce the new instalment of the collaboration between Zagreb Film Festival and Mediterranean Film Festival Split and Kino Mediteran. I am very pleased that this partnership has become a tradition, as this is the fifth year that we come together to bring you the films, which had their Croatian premieres in Split or at one of the numerous summer cinemas with our programming.

In previous years, we noticed that Zagreb audiences not only attend our screenings here, but also visit our cinemas during summer months and that they follow what we do. Even though the main aim of Kino Mediteran is audience development in local communities, we are exceptionally pleased that other audiences recognize our “signature” programming, featuring mostly small, warm and multi-layered quality films. Precisely these sort of films are what binds us with ZFF and what originally prompted this reciprocal partnership, thanks to which the audiences in the south get a chance to see films arriving from ZFF.
