Teenagers Kiira and Lenni have just fallen in love and they’re already expecting a baby. Being from single-parent families, their future seems uncertain. But they are sticking to their decision to stay together and start a family. As adult commitments are proving too much for Lenni, he starts spending more time with an older, far-right man Janne and neglecting Kiira. Under Janne’s influence, Lenni stirs the waters of their multi-ethnic neighbourhood, so as Kiira’s pregnancy advances, he will have to decide whether he is going to grow up and assume responsibility for his actions. Stupid Young Heart was Finnish Oscar candidate and it won the Best Film Award in the Generation 14plus program at Berlinale 2019.
