Dana Budisavljević - director, screenwriter

She made her directorial debut with the documentary Straight A’s (2004), achieving wider acclaim with a coming-out story, Family Meals (2012). Producer of the documentary series Slumbering Concrete by Saša Ban and films like I Like That Super Most the Best by Eva Kraljević and Juraj Lerotić’s Then I See Tanja, etc. Her debut feature, The Diary of Diana B., won a series of awards at Pula Film Festival, including Best Film, Best Director and the Audience Award.

Elmir Jukić - director

Director of short fiction and documentary films The Man Who Has Exchanged His Home For Tunnel, Frame for the Picture of My Homeland and Mother and sitcoms Lud, zbunjen, normalan, Dva smo svijeta različita, Kriza, Lažni svjedok, Ne diraj mi mamu and Konak kod Himalaje. His feature film, The Frog, an adaptation of Dubravko Mihanović’s play, won a series of awards at international festivals. He is an associate professor at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo (ASU) and teaches TV directing at AAB College in Priština.

Ágnes Kocsis - director

She majored at Eötvös Lóránd University in Polish Language and Literature, Aesthetics, and Film Theory, and has a degree in Film Direction from the Academy of Drama and Film in Budapest. Her short The Virus shared third prize in Cannes Cinéfondation in 2006. Her debut feature, Fresh Air (2006), screened at Critics’ Week in Canes. Her second feature, Adrienn Pál (2010), won the FIPRESCI Award in the Cannes section Un Certain Regard. She received the Béla Balázs Award in 2011.

Stefan Bošković - screenwriter

Scriptwriter for feature film Lowdown, award-winning shorts Tranquillity of Blood, Peloid, The Road and Martin, as well as two seasons of sitcom Dojč Caffe. He is the author of the acclaimed novel, Slap in the Face, and a collection of short stories, Transparent Animals. His stories have been translated into English, German, Chinese, Russian, Slovenian, Albanian and Macedonian and published in international anthologies and magazines such as Best European Fiction, Words Without Borders and BODY Literature.

Maja Jelisić Cooper - CEO of Klasik-TV

After graduating in Art History and Information Sciences from Zagreb University, she earned her MBA from University of Leicester and ESCEM School of Business and Management. She is the co-founder and director of Klasik TV, a channel devoted to films from Croatia and the region. Her new project, DOX TV, is a cable and IPTV channel primarily dedicated to world documentaries, launched in the summer of 2019 in Serbia and Montenegro.

INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM AND CHECKERS

Mladen Stanić - director, screenwriter

He is a graduate student of Film Directing at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb and author of several award-winning short films such as A Small Detail and White Room. The latter was awarded the Golden Pram for Best Croatian Short in the Checkers program of the 16th Zagreb Film Festival.

Lina Jelena Galijatović

She grew up watching film classics with her family on Sundays thus developing her film tastes. Films awaken her curiosity and inspiration and she enjoys analysing and discussing them. She also plays the guitar. She loves music and always pays attention to the relationship between events in the film and the music in the background.

Tina Grgić

In her 16 years, she has made numerous films, which have screened at various film revues and festivals, such as the Croatian Children’s Film Festival, Dubrovnik FF, PSSST! Silent FF and Four River FF. Being on this jury will give her a chance to discuss and analyse films and she is looking forward to hearing the other members’ impressions.

Lea Magzan

She applied to be on this jury because of her interest in arts, and since film is a synthesis of all the arts, it is her favourite medium. She is curious about how artists get their ideas and how they transform them into films and also wants to hone her film evaluation skills.

Klara Mišković

For her, life without film is like a guitar without strings. She is learning to play the guitar, music is a great passion for her, and she appreciates a good soundtrack. Her favourite genres are musicals and music films, but she enjoys watching films of all kinds. Films soothe and calm her and are a form of therapy for her.

Maja Vuković

Believes that film is a hugely potent art form, capable of changing our worldview, affecting everybody differently. By participating in the jury, she wants to contribute to the choice of films that young people will see. She was particularly motivated because the chosen films come from different countries, allowing us to learn about different cultures and ways of life.
