The film follows the 1980s West Berlin music scene – its subcultures, artists, commune members, squatters and hedonists of all sorts. Interspersed with previously unaired TV and film footage, photos and interviews, B-movie tells the story of life in a divided city, the cultural inter-spaces where anything seemed possible. This collage of dynamic stories from a raving decade bursting with creativity spans anything from punk to the Love Parade. Berlin of the time was not unlike a b-movie: cheap and kitsch, gum and ambitious, high and hungover, and incredibly special. Blixa Bargeld, Nick Cave, New Order, Klaus Schulze and many others appear in the film, while the story is narrated by Mancunian musician and producer Mark Reeder.
